How We Communicate
The New Media and Broadcast Stages featured interactive learning experiences for youth and their caring adults featuring an eclectic mix of emerging elements that continue to shape how we communicate today and in the future. Since the event, 3D broadcast technology has also been gaining attention. For instance, in March 2010, the NCAA Final Four was broadcast in 3D, a first for CBS broadcasting, and Samsung launched its new 3D television.
New Media Stage 1: Podcast Learning Lab presented by MIMA (The Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association)
Hosted by Podcasting expert, Andrew Banas, mentors and their mentees learned how to podcast and record them on the Podcast Learning Lab Stage. We were also able to stream a portion of the afternoon's Interactive Learning Labs live on Ustream.tv. After all, new media is all about being flexible when you are creating content.
New Media Stage 2: Vision Creation Lab presented by TelAVision.tv staffed by the Project Divas Mentor Program
Project Diva mentors and mentees taught participants how to use a digital tool to create their life vision statement and record a mini vision video.
Broadcast Stage 3: Liz Collin hosts the Kids Stage supported by the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota’s Executive Youth Board
WCCO 4 Weekend Anchor/Reporter, Liz Collin talked with mentors and mentees about their mentoring experiences and the benefits of being a mentor and mentee. From the Project Diva mentors and mentees to the First Robotics Team, Derek Olsen and more, Liz captured the inspirational youth stories of the day. Broadcast Stage 4: On Impact Productions Produces the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota's Wired for 2020 Campaign Stage featuring Laura Goodrich
Laura Goodrich hosted interviews with 22 industry experts and VIPs supporting the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota's Wired for 2020 Campaign. From John Stanoch of Qwest to Alice Seagren of the Minnesota Department of Education to Minnesota's Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, our Minnesota luminaries were shining. We will be sharing all the videos with you over the coming months so stay tuned!
